The picture shows a view of this Old Dorchester Massachusetts Downtown Electric Street Car Photograph. The black & white photograph is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1930s or 1940s. The back is blank. It pictures an electric streetcar in a Dorchester downtown or Main Street scene. Besides the streetcar, the image has old automobiles, buildings, awnings, people, and advertising signs that include the following:

UPHAM'S CORNER MARKET
WORLD'S LARGEST
OLD SUPREME WINES
WALDORF CAFETERIA
L.L. MODEST SHOES

The Uphams Corner Market claims to be the worlds very first ''Supermarket''. The photograph measures 5-13/16'' x 3-13/16''. It appears to be in near mint condition as pictured with a few light scratches in the sky that do not show up in the scan.
