Occupied Japan   World War II   WWII   Cherub   Kewpie   Baby   Angel   Butterfly   Porcelain   Figure   Figurine
The picture shows several views of this 1940s Occupied Japan Cherub & Butterfly Porcelain Figurine. The figurine is not dated but it was manufactured just after World War II when Japan was occupied by the United States. The figure is of a cherub or Kewpie type baby with tiny wings on its back. The child is riding atop a colorful butterfly. It is nicely glazed in multiple colors. This figurine may have been sold as a souvenir. It is marked on the bottom as follows:

MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN

The figurine measures 3-1/2'' tall. It appears to be in mint condition as pictured. There is a little old sticker price glue on the bottom that could be removed if desired.
