|The picture shows a front and back view of this Old Farming Couple Edite Par Gout De Ville Limoges Miniature Porcelain Plate. This tiny plate is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1800s or early 1900. The plate has a scene with a young man and women farmers looking down into a basket with very little fruit or vegetables (tomatoes ?). We are not sure, but they may be praying or giving thanks. He appears to be holding his hat in his hands. Next to him is a pitch fork and by her is a wooden wheelbarrow with a couple sacks full of something. It looks like there may be farm buildings in the background on the right. It is marked with a crown on the back and as follows:|
GOUT DE VILLE
MADE IN FRANCE
Around the uneven edge is a fancy gold hand painted design. This miniature porcelain plate only measures 1-13/16'' wide. It appears to be in mint condition as pictured. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, or any wear to the image or the gold paint.
