1942 United States Army Soldier Letter, Envelope & Photograph
United States   U.S. Army   Soldier   World War II   WWII   Letter   Envelope   Photo   Photograph   Military   Fort Devens   Massachusetts
The picture shows a view of the 1942 United States Army Soldier Letter, Envelope & Photograph in this lot. The letter and envelope are matching U.S.O. stationery with the Unied Service Organization logo on the letterhead and the saying ''IDLE GOSSIP SINKS SHIPS'' on both. The letter was mailed for free on August 18th 1942 from Ayer, Massachusetts to a Portsmouth, New Hampshire address. The small photo was found in the envelope. It has Soldiers with machine guns in front of a row of large tents. To judge the sizes the letter measures 5-1/2'' x 8-1/2''. The letter and envelope are in excellent condition. The envelope is neatly opened on the left side. The photo has some paper loss on the sides as pictured from being taped at one time.
