The picture shows a view of this Old Metal C. F. Albert Advertising Violin String Gauge Fob or Charm. The back is blank. The patent date is not fully stamped and the year it was made is unknown. It could be from the 1800s or early 1900s. There is a loop at the top for hanging it on a chain, string, cord, nail, keychain, or a key ring. It has (4) slots on three sides to gauge violin string sizes. These are marked: ''D - 4321'', ''AG - 4321'', and ''E - 4321''. It is also marked as follows:

The gauge measures 15/16'' x 1-1/2''. It is in excellent or better condition as pictured.
