''The silver device features a snarling hyena surmounting a crescent that bears the motto ''J'y Suis, J'y Reste'' ''Here I am, Here I Remain" Badge was approved for permanent wear by Soldiers of the 509th Parachute Infantry directed Headquarters, North African Theater of Operations. This was the first foreign badge awarded to U.S. troops in WWII.'' It is marked on the two sides as follows: J'y Suis - J'y Reste The pin or badge measures about 1-7/16'' wide. It appears to be in excellent condition with some light wear as pictured. |
