The picture shows this Old Die Cut Mechanical Advertising Premium Walking Doll. This resembles an old Cracker Jack prize and may have been made by the same company. It is a cute image of a girl with a doll in her arms. There is a wheel attached to the back with a rivet. That wheel has four feet and when it is rolled along it gives the appearance that the girl is walking. The advertisement printed on it reads: IT WILL PAY TO WALK A MILE TO THE BAYBURN DYERS AND CLEANSERS WITH A REPUTATION BAYBURN CLEANSING SHOP CAMBRIDGE, MASS. (Massachusetts) The back of the wheel reads: WALKING DOLL PATENT APPLIED FOR J.B. CARROLL CO. CHICAGO The advertising premium is not dated but believed to be from the 194039;s. It measures 6" tall and it is in excellent condition with two light creases that can barely be made out in the scan. |
