The picture shows a view of this Unused 1954 Animal Farm Cartoon Movie Ad Mat Mold. The ad mat is not dated but it is from the 1954 cartoon film. The movie was released in 1956. This is a mold in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. The ad mat is like a miniature 3-D poster and would look nice framed, or you could still use it and make print blocks from it. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. The admat has images of a farmer and animal characters from the movie. It is marked as follows:

AN UNFORGETABLE CAST...
IN ''A GREAT NEW CARTOON MOVIE!'' - THIS WEEK MAGAZINE
''IT' TERRIFIC!'' - WALTER WINCHELL

NAPOLEON - a pig of a dictator ... he's got the world in an uproar!

BOXER - a regular guy, a real work horse!

SNOWBALL - once the boss, he's got the boot!

FARMER JONES - the animals threw him off his farm!

SQUEALER - he used a sly eye and a lying tongue!

BENJAMIN - got kicked ... but fought like a mule.
