The pictures show views of this Colorful Old Boxed Buck Rogers Jet Propelled Strato Kite. Shown is a closer view of the Buck Rogers head image with helmet that is on the kite sections. Also shown are the box and three parts to the kite. Missing are the three wooden dowel rods. These can be purchased at any hardware store. The box and kite are not dated but are believed to be from the 1930s or 1940s. This unused kite had been found in an old display case in the basement of an old five & dime store. The kite may have also been used as a radio premium at one time as well. It was manufactured in the U.S.A. by the Aero - Kite Company of Chicago, Illinois. The box pictures Buck Rogers and the assembled kite. The back of the box has detailed assembly and flying instructions. The kite has two images of Buck Rogers, two images of rocketships, and two stars. The kite is marked as follows: BUCK ROGERS STRATO - KITE Some of the print on the box reads as follows: BUCK ROGERS STRATO - KITE THE KITE THAT FLIES LIKE AN AEROPLANE THE NEW ''JET - PROPELLED'' SENSATION QUICKLY AND EASILY ASSEMBLED IT'S ''JET PROPELLED'' FUN FOR EVERYONE Soars, loops, maneuvers, and power dives with the slightest manipulation of the kite string. No running is necessary. The least breeze launches the ''jet-propelled'' Strato-Kite to unbelievable heights. To judge the sizes the box measures 24'' long. It is in excellent or better condition as pictured. As mentioned above, there are three wooden dowel rods that are not with the kit but can be purchased at any hardware store. The box has some creasing and missing end flaps. The kite also has some creasing. It is surprising that this kite survived at all in any condition. |
