The pictures show a front and back view of this Colorful Old Collier's Encyclopedia Advertising Premium Calendar Bank. This calendar bank is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1950s. It has a 1951 patent number on the back (see below). It was probably acquired as a premium when a set of the encyclopedias was purchased. The bank is made of plastic and metal. The front has an image of a set of Colliers encyclopedia books. There is a calendar that changes when coins are inserted. There is a ''Conscience Slot'' on the back for folded currency to be inserted. We do not have the key to include with the bank. There is an unused paper area on the back to write or type a name and address. It is under a clear covering. The bank is marked on the two sides as follows: (date - month & date) COLLIER'S ENCYCLOPEDIA AN INVESTMENT IN KNOWLEDGE PAYS THE BEST INTEREST CONSCIENCE SLOT ALL COIN CALENDAR BANK U.S. PAT. 2,550,364 DES. PAT. PEND. M. A. GERETT CORP. MILWAUKEE 5 MADE IN U.S.A. The bank measures 4-3/8'' x 3-3/8'' x 1-9/16''. It appears to be in excellent used condition as pictured with only light wear. |
