The picture below shows a larger view of all (10) Different Small Old Nut or Peanut Related Advertising or Souvenir Items in this lot. These items are not dated but they are believed to range from the 1930s to the 1970s. This is an accumulated lot with a variety of items. Included in this lot are the following: There is a miniature porcelain peanut shaped creamer pitcher. There is an unused embossed and painted “PEANUTS BUTTERED” Bicycle license plate. There is an unused “PEANUTS” ticket from the Cleveland Stadium Corporation Concession Department. Instead of dealing with change in the stands tickets would be purchased ahead of time and given to the vendor. Others were available including ones for Cracker Jack, Beer, Soda, Hot Dogs, and maybe pop corn. This one is unused. The stadium was torn down. Next is an old advertising match book cover (no matches) from “LUMMIS FRESH SALTED PEANUTS”. The outside pictures a five cent package and the inside pictures a tin with the key on the bottom of “KRISP SALTED PEANUTS” by the same Lummis & Company of Phioladelphia, Pennsylvania. There is a brass peanut shaped pocketknife on a keychain. It has a single sharp locking blade. It is marked “RICH” on the blade, “RICH” on the button, and “TASTY” on the peanut. It was most likely used as an advertising premium or prize. There is a metal peanut shaped charm or pendant. There is also a tiny red plastic “PLANTER’S” peanuts charm, but it is missing the charm loop. The final three items in this lot are different pin back buttons. These are marked as follows: NUTS TO YOU! AW NUTS WHY SETTLE FOR PEANUTS & ALE? All of these peanut items for one price! To judge the sizes the tin license plate measures about 4-7/8'' x 2-1/16''. These items appear to range from good to mint condition. The match book has some wear. Two of the pinback buttons have some light spotting, and the red charm is missing the loop as pictured. |
