The pictures show views of this Boxed Old Brass Seth Thomas Melrose Travel Alarm Clock. The first picture shows the box cover, the clock in its box bottom, and the unused eight panel warantee paper that came with the clock. The second picture shows a side panel of the box cover, the back of the clock, and the same warantee paper. The year that this clock was made or sold is unknown, but it is old and probably easy enough to find out. It was made in Germany. The clock is in working order and keeps good time. It has a fairly loud alarm for its size. The clock hands and the hour number dots glow in the dark. There is a base and a glass lens. It has a knob to set the time, a knob to set the alarm, a pull on - push off alarm button, a time an alarm key wind, and a slower / faster adjustment screw. There is no second hand. There is a brown fuzzy bottom on the base. The front, back, and bottom of the clock are marked as follows: SETH THOMAS MADE IN GERMANY FOR SETH THOMAS CLOCKS THOMASTON, CONN. U.S.A. ONE (1) JEWEL UNADJUSTED GERMANY MADE IN GERMANY The gold box cover pictures a Patriot or Minuteman with a clock. It has blue print on the top and one side that reads as follows: SETH THOMAS FINE CLOCKS SINCE 1813 SETH THOMAS A DIVISION OF GENERAL TIME CORP. MELROSE BY SETH THOMAS 30 HOUR ALARM NO. 912 SILVER - GOLD DIAL LUMINOUS The box bottom also has the original insert to hold the clock. The clock measures 3-5/8'' tall and the box 3-1/4'' x 4-1/8'' x 2-1/8''. The clock appears to be in near mint working condition and the box is excellent as pictured. |
