Leader Candies Howdy Pardner Surprize Bag
Candy   Advertising   Bag   Packaging   Cowboy   Premium   Prize
The picture shows both sides of this Leader Candies Howdy Pardner Surprize Bag. Originally it came with 3 toys with the candy, similar to Cracker Jack. The front of the bag pictures a boy on a horse and reads:

Surprize Bag
Howdy Pardner Western Style
3 Toys Plus Candy
Leader Candies Inc. Brooklyn, 37, N.Y.

The back has some interesting text. It has the ingredients and weight (1/8 oz.) but it also has this statement:

Privilege To Examine Before Purchasing

I can't imagine what the stores today would be like if this was possible! The bag is not dated but believed to be from the 1950's. It measures 3-1/2" x 7-1/2". It is in very good condition with discoloration on the back and a small tear that is on both the front and back in the same spot.
