The pictures show all (9) Old Diner Advertising Items in this lot. Three of the items are from one Diner. In the first picture there is a 1949 convention type badge It has a plastic covering with a pin on the back. It has a printed and typed paper insert. It appears to be in excellent condition. This Diner was closed and moved to the Cleveland, Ohio area and is now inside a Harley Davidson dealership there. The paper insert is marked as follows: N.E. HOTEL & RESTAURANT SHOW BOSTON, APRIL 27-28-29, 1949 GILBERT SHAW GILLS DINER ROCHESTER, N.H. There is a picture in a clear plastic holder with a magnet. This appears to be a fantasy item. The photo appears to be from a painting. There is a Coca-Cola sign and a bottle sign on the Diner car. The signs read "CLUB DINER", "REGULAR DINNERS", and "UNION CATERER". It is in mint condition. Next there are three advertising match pack covers. The first one is the only one with matches. The second one is in near mint condition but the other two have spots and wear. The third one has print on both sides. They have the following names and locations: RED ARROW DINER WELLS, MAINE. THE DINER RENO, NEVADA. DUFFY'S STREAMLINER NORTH OXFORD, MASSACHUSETTS. On the second picture there are two advertising post cards and a business card. The two on the left as well as the placemat in the third picture are from the same place. Both of the postcards are unused but have a little discoloration on the backs from being in a scrap book. The right postcard has a hand written date on the back (May 10, 1973). The names and locations of these are: THE LAUREL DINER LAUREL, MARYLAND. VILLAGE DINER MILFORD, PENNSYLVANIA. The placemat was with the other two Laurel Diner items in a scrap book. The place was visited by a couple on their honeymoon on April 20, 1955. There is a date penciled on the placemat. It also has some tape pieces around the edges. These can be removed. It has discoloration from years of being in the scrap book. There is some Horse Race advertising on the placemat for "LAUREL RACEWAY", "LAUREL RACE TRACK", and "BOWIE RACE TRACK", all between Baltimore and Washington, D.C.. All of these items for one price! |
