The picture below shows a larger view of all (6) Different Colorful Old Miniature Hollow Celluloid Toy or Prize Items in this lot. These are not dated but they are believed to be from the early 1900s. Some of these have a marking but the makers are unknown. Most of these are painted. Some of these may have been used as a prize toy in a box of Cracker Jack. Some may have been sold as penny toys, and some may have been won as carnival prizes. They were available in many ways including old novelty catalogs. Included in this lot are the following items: Santa Claus Christmas Holiday Character Figure. Baby or Doll Figure with jointed arms, marked with an animal footprint and “JAPAN”. Person on a Ball, no weight, indented on front and back of ball, marked but can't read. Deer or Reindeer with antlers, marked “JAPAN”. Scottish Terrier – Scottie Dog, charm loop on top. Duck, Swan, or Goose Bird. All of these for one price! To judge the sizes the baby or doll measures 1-1/2'' tall. These appear to range from good to mint as made condition as pictured and described above. These are very fragile items. It is hard to believe that any of them have survived all of these years. |
