The picture below shows a larger view of all (15) Different 1939 1940 New York World's Fair Advertising and Souvenir Paper Items in this lot. This is an accumulated lot with a variety of items. Included here are the following: In the center there is a colorful detailed New Yorker magazine map of the Fair Grounds and all of the main exhibits or pavilions. On the back is a story about young Henry Ford and it pictures the Ford Exhibit. It has some over all wear from handling. There is a detailed (15 panel two sided) Shell New York World's Fair folded map. It has a map of New York City with many named buildings, the location of the Fair, TheLeague of Nations, The Petroleum Exhibit, Fair Facts, and much more. There is a 1939 detailed (6 panels two sided) map of New York City from Hotel Bristol. It give much information and pictures along with the 1939 New York World's Fair. It pictures the Trylon and Perishere as well as a model of the Cosmetics Exhibit Building. Next is a 1939 embossed paper place mat from the Schlitz Palm Garden Restaurant at the 1939 New York World's Fair. The placemat is still pasted to a scrap book page and it has some dark stains. Pasted on top of the placemat is an (also stained) envelope from the Maison Coty Charm Center of The New York World's Fair. The envelope contains a small four page brochure from the same cosmetics or make up exhibit. It has an image from the New Yorker magazine. The brochure also has some of the same staining as well. There are (2) different used New York City hotel postcards. One is from the Hotel Dixie It was postmarked November 13, 1938 and was sent to a Haverhill, Massachusetts address. It has (5) images and mentions the 1939 New York World's Fair. The other postcard was from the Hotel Victoria. It was postmarked October 4, 1939 and was sent to a Salmon Falls, New Hampshire address. It mentions to visit the New York World's Fair 1939. Both of these have green George Washington one cent postage stamps. Next there is an empty envelope that once held (10) New York World's Fair pictorial post cards. It was from The Union News Co. in New York. The final (6) items in this lot are all black & white photographs taken at the Fair. One has the Trylon and Perishere, one has an Italian statue with Marconi, one has a boy in front of a Woeld War I Army tank, one is of a sailing ship, one is in front of the United States of American Building, and the last one is of an unknown vine covered stone building. All of these items for one price! To judge the sizes the New Yorker map in the center measures 17-1/4'' x 11-3/4''. These items appear to range from poor (with stains)all the way to mint condition as pictured. |
