| The pictures below show larger views of all (7) Unused ©1953 Barefoot Battalion 20th Century Fox Adventure Movie Ad Mat Molds in this lot. The original movie title was “To Xypolyto Tagma”. These ad mats are not dated but they are from 1953 when this movie was made. These are molds in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. The ad mats are like a miniature 3-D posters and would look nice painted or framed, or you could still use them to make print blocks. The print blocks would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater schedule programs. They are made of a thick compressed paper board. These have movie scene images of Actors and Actresses from the film. They largest ad mat here (center in picture #1) is marked as follows: TEENAGE WOLF PACKS

MAT - 207 To judge the sizes, the center ad mat in the first picture measures about 4-3/4'' x 8-1/8''. All of these appear to be in mint unused condition except one has a watermark, but this does not effect its use.as pictured.
