| | | The picture shows a view of both sides of this Old Horace Partridge & Company Advertising Trade Card. The year this card was made is unknown, but it is believed to be from the 1800s. The card has a very nice illustration of a leisure day for a well to do family. It pictures a mansion on a hill, trees, people playing badminton, a log bench, hat, golf club, a sleeping dog, and a man relaxing in a hammock reading a newspaper. The image itself is marked ''J. S. CONANT - BOSTON''. The front (image side) is marked as follows: UNION WEB HAMMOCK HORACE PARTRIDGE & CO. SOLE AG'TS. 51, 53, 55, & 57 HANOVER STREET, BOSTON The back has more advertising. It reads as follows: HORACE PARTRIDGE & CO. IMPORTERS FANCY GOODS AND JEWELRY, LAVA, CHINA WARE AND BOHEMIAN GLASS, ALBUMS, DOLLS, TOYS, MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, &c., 51 - 57 HANOVER STREET OPP. AMERICAN HOUSE. BOSTON The card measures 6-1/8'' x 3-7/8''. It is in very good condition with some spotting on the back as pictured. |
