The pictures below show larger views all around this Very Colorful Old West German Space Age Transportation Lithographed Tin Toy Humming & Spinning Top. This large lithographed tin toy top is not dated but it is believed to be from the early 1950s. It is marked “LBZ” which we believe is for Lorenz Bolz Zirndorf. It is also marked “MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY” on the side and on the included rrd rubber base. The rocketship pictured has the word “RAKETE” on it. The top is very colorful with interesting detailed graphics all over. It has children in transportation vehicles such as a flying saucer, a rocket ship a convertible automobile, and a helicopter. There are also images of the Sun, the Moon, Saturn, Stars, and more. There are also colorful geometric designs similar to circus wagon wheels. The top is lithographed metal, with a red wooden handle, and a red rubber base. With the small holes in the side, the top makes a musical humming sound as it spins. The top measures about 7'' wide by about 9-1/2'' tall. It works and spins well. It appears to be in excellent or better condition. There is a small indent on the bottom as pictured (see picture #7). |
