The pictures below show larger front and back views of this Elaborate Framed Seated Victorian Child Photograph. These are not dated but they are believed to be from the 1800s. The photo is mounted on a backing board. The photograph measures 4-3/16'' x 6-1/4''. Below the photo the mat board is marked: BAILEY & ROSENFIELD, ROCHESTER, N.H. This framed photograph was acquired from an old estate with many more older photographs of different kinds dating back as far as the Civil War to the early 1900s, including many tintypes, carte de visite (CDV), and cabinet cards. The people are not identified, however, the majority of photographs were of people who were probably related, and had lived in Bangor, Maine and Rochester, New Hampshire. The frame is made of wood with a beaded area inside and we believe that they have brown painted plaster moldings on fronts with elaborate detailed designs. The frame has a wooden panel back and a wire for hanging. The frame measures about 14-1/2'' x 16-1/2''. It appears to be in good or better condition. The plaster work has some small chipping as pictured but it can be repaired. |
