The medallion is not dated and the year that it was made is unknown. It could be used as a necklace pendant, charm bracelet charm, or a keychain fob. It appears to be made of brass with a blue enameled ring area. There is a coin like medal mounted on the front that has the Alabama Coat of Arms with eagles, a shield, sailing ship, and banner with the state motto. It is marked as follows: OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR
