This is the type of pen that would have been at a bank, hotel, library, or another similar business. There is an old ball chain to keep the pen with the base. The pen has a Number #2048 Esterbrook nib. The pen is made of an old plastic and the base appears to be ceramic or porcelain. The top of the base section is marked as follows: PLEASE REPLACE PEN IN SOCKET The original cover for the bottom of the base is still intact as pictured.
