The pictures below show larger views of all (10) Unused ©1958 The Buccaneer Paramount Adventure Movie Ad Mat Molds in this lot. These ad mats are not dated but they are from 1958 when this movie was made. These are molds in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this.

The ad mats are like a miniature 3-D posters and would look nice painted and framed, or you could still use them to make print blocks. The print blocks would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater schedule programs. They are made of a thick compressed paper board. These have movie scene images of Actors or Actresses. Each of these have different details, but the most detailed admat is marked as follows:

Paramount logo ®

To judge the sizes, the center ad mat in the first picture below measures about 4-1/2'' x 3-3/4''. All of these appear to be in mint unused condition, and some are still connected as pictured.
