| | | The picture shows a view of the (2) Colorful 1918 US Rowing Celluloid Pin Back Buttons in this lot. These pins were from a "working class" group called "Upstreamers" or "U.S. Class". They had mottoes such as "Pulling Together" and "Aim: To Work Not Drift". The group may have been religion based. This information comes from a 1918 catalog that sold them. They were found with items that were from World War I and earlier. The two pinback buttons are identical. They are nicely imprinted in gold, black, red, blue, green, and yellow. They have an image of two men rowing a row boat. The letters ''US'' are in gold with a black outline. They are marked on the two sides as follows: US DAVID C. COOK PUBLISHING CO. ELGIN CHICAGO NEW YORK BOSTON The pinback buttons each measure 5/8'' wide. They are both in mint condition as pictured. |
