It does read “1938” on both sides. The crane is mounted on top of a flat car and it spins 360 degrees around. It is painted in maroon silver, and red, and there are four white rubber wheels below. There are two hitches but the post is missing from one. It is marked on the two sides and bottom as follows: 19 38
