| | | | The picture below shows a larger view of all in this lot. Antique victorian silver skirt lifter 1870/1890 L&D Depose France antique silver chatelaine 19th century. There is only one being offered here, and both sides are being shown. Originally it had a cord, string, or chain attached to the large charm like loop at the top. We do not see any Silver markings, but the company states that these are made of silver. We are not sure if this was a tool for raising and lowering large elaborate Victorian dresses, working on them, to be getting dressed in them, or all three. In any case, the toll will hold a dress in place well. It is marked on the two sides as follows: L & D DEPOSE’ The tool measures about 1-7/8'' x 3-3/4'' x 5/8''. It appears to be in excellent working condition as pictured. |
