It comes in a round clear plastic protective case (not shown). This coin has a mirror like proof finish. The black areas seen in the picture are actually bright silver in color. We do not know if the coin is made of silver or not and it has not been tested. One side features the United States Marine Corps insignia, and the other side has an American flag, a Marine Corps flag, a banner, and the United States Marine Corps insignia. It is marked on the two sides as follows: UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS
