The pin is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1930s or early 1940s during World War II. It is made of a gold colored metal, looking silver colored on the skull. The pin or badge has a skull with wings. There is a star on a shield, on a banner, at the neck area. There is a shield on the back, and it is marked on the two sides as follows: KIAI O KALEWA N.S. MEYER
