It is based on the famous newspaper strip. The book was printed in the U.S.A. by The Whitman Publishing Company of Racine, Wisconsin. It is copyright 1938 by Frank V. Martinek and was licensed by Famous Artists Syndicate of Chicago, Illinois. The cover pictures Don Winslow and a United States Navy war ship. The back has Navy Sailors firing a big gun on the ship. There are many comic strip illustrations inside. Several pages in the back that list many other different character books that were available. This book measures about 3-5/8'' x 4-1/2'' x 1-1/4''. It appears to be in very good condition with some wear to the cover as pictured. The binding side has about a 1'' separation at the top. |
