| | | | The pictures below show a larger view of this Old Set of United States Navy Semaphore Cloth Signal Flags. This set of flags was acquired with many old Navy items, but the ship that they came from is unknown. They are not dated but they are believed to be old. This is a matching set of red and yellow cloth flags tied on to hand held wooden poles. They were used for sending signals from ship to ship, or ship to land by holding and / or waving them in different positions. These flags are simply marked as follows: NAZZARD E.C. We have been told that these flags were also used by the Boy Scouts for communication as well. The signal flags each measure about 14'' x 14''. They appear to be in excellent used condition as pictured. |
