| | | | The pictures show a front and back view of this Colorful 1896 Force Cereal Sunny Jim Advertising Character Celluloid Pin Back Button. There are some patent dates on the back. We can say that this pinback button came from a large collection of pins that we had acquired that was created and collected in 1896. The front of the pin is in yellow, red, black, and white. It has an image of Sunny Jim of Force Cereal smiling, in a top hat, monocle or spectacles, a high collar, and jacket. The back had a printing union marking. It is marked on the two sides as follows: BE SUNNY BUTTONS MADE BY
THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO.
NEWARK, N.J., U.S.A.
PAT. APRIL 14, 1896, JULY 21, 1896. The advertising character pin back button measures 1-3/4'' wide. It appears to be in very good to excellent condition with some old age spotting as pictured. |
