The picture below shows a larger front and back view of this 1952 United States National Geodetic Survey Tide Calendar with Wooden Holder. The wooden frame or holder appears to be made of mahogany wood. It is not dated and the year that it was made is unknown. On the front is a painted ship pennant or flag with red and blue with a white star. On the back is a hinged easel back section to stand up, and a hole at the top for hanging. The tide calendar is attached with two screws. With weekly tear off sheets pulled off, the calendar year is not complete. What remains is all of the pages from August 17th, 1952 to December 31st, 1952. The calendar pages are for ''Daily Tidal Times At Commonwealth Piers - BOSTON TIDES''. Beyond the calendar pages are many pages with lots of information for many locations on East Coast of the United States all the way from Eastport, Maine to Key West, Florida and beyond. To judge the sizes the wooden section measures about 3'' x 6''. It appears to be in excellent condition. The paper pad has wear as pictured and it is not complete as mentioned above. |
