The picture below shows a larger view of all (3) Unused ©1957 The Flesh Is Weak & Blonde In Bondage Double Feature Movie Ad Mat Molds in this lot. The three are all still connected. The ad mats are not dated but they are from 1957 when these movies were both made. These are molds in which lead is poured to create thin metal negative images that are then mounted on wooden blocks for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. “The Flesh Is Weak” is about pimps preying on young women coming to London, England for work. “Blonde In Bondage” is about an American reporter doing a story on Swedish nightlife gets involved with a drug addicted nightclub singer. The ad mats are like miniature 3-D posters and would look nice framed, or you could still use them and make print blocks. The print blocks would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. Two of the admats have images of scantly dressed women. The other one is of a scene with a man and a woman from “The Flesh Is Weak”. They are marked as follows: SEE THIS DOUBLE SHOCK SHOW … AND THEN WARN YOUR DAUGHTERS! “THE FLESH IS WEAK” “BLONDE IN BONDAGE” 2 COL. X 26 LINES – (52 LINES) SEE THIS DOUBLE SHOCK SHOW … AND THEN WARN YOUR DAUGHTERS! “THE FLESH IS WEAK” “BLONDE IN BONDAGE” 1 COL. X 45 LINES SCENE FROM “THE FLESH IS WEAK” The three ad mats together as shown measure about 5-1/16'' x 9-7/8''. They appear to be in mint unused condition.
