The picture below shows a larger view of this 1931 ERROR Cracker Jack Pop Corn Confection Advertising Lithographed Tin Toy Spinner Top Prize. The Cracker Jack ID number for this prize is: Z-0107 and it was made by the Gray Stamp & Manufacturing Company of Plano, Illinois. The top is imprinted in red, white, and blue and it pictures an early Prize Cracker Jack box. The spinner top has the original wooden post or peg in the center. After the lithography was printed on the sheetmetal, and the holes were punched out, the spinner top was punched out very much off center. The post must have been pushed through to make its own hole because the hole that was made for it went unused. Parts of the design of two tops can be seen as well as the scrap white section, and the printing registration marks. If you are interested in oddities, this is a good one. It is marked as follows: ALWAYS ON TOP CRACKER JACK POPCORN CONFECTION NUT - “R” (for Reliable Confections) WORLD’S FAMOUS CONFECTION The spinner top measures about 1-1/2'' wide. It appears to be in near mint condition as pictured. |
