We are not sure what the different label under it reads. The box is not dated, but it is from the early 1900s. The colorful box pictures the Quaker advertising character twice and oats. It mentioned awards from the Grand Prix in Paris, France from 1900 and at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois. The cereal was made by The Quaker Oats Company of Chicago, Illinois. The premium offer label reads as follows: THIS FAMILY SIZE PACKAGE OF QUAKER OATS

CONTAINS A HANDSOME PIECE OF DECORATED
SEMI - PORCELAIN TABLEWARE
THIS WARE IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE PACKAGE

YOUR GROCER IS AUTHORIZED TO SHOW YOU THE WARE. The box, if assembed measures about 6-1/2'' x 9-7/8'' x 3-1/4''. It appears to be in excellent condition. The box has all four sides and all four bottom flaps. The four top flaps are gone. It is flat, but can be reglued to display well. For some unknown reason, there is a round hole cut out from one side as pictured. There is also small piece of a corner missing from a bottom flap. |
