| | | The pictures show a view of all (42) Old Mt. Vernon & Richmond, Virginia Historical Photographs in this lot. These are antique photographs printed on thin paper. They are believed to be from the 1800s. Some of these may have been used in the making of post cards. One is dated ©1897. I am sure that these will be of interest to a Historian. The photographer is unknown. There are (22) 6-1/4'' x 4-1/2'' interior and exterior photographs of President George and Martha Washington's Mount Vernon estate. These are very detailed photographs. The interior images are loaded with all the tresures, antique furniture, paintings, and much more. The exterior ones are of both the main building and some of the out buildings. (13) of these have some hand writing on the back describing the image. The other photographs in this lot range in size from 7-1/8'' x 4-3/8'' to 9-3/8'' x 7-3/8''. Many of these also have hand written descriptions on the backs. Pocahontas Captain John Smith The photographs vary in condition. The edges are curling on many of them and some have some edge wear. The curling can be easily flattened.
