The picture shows a view of the (2) Different 1960s Framed Alvaro Big Eyed Children Art Prints in this lot. These old prints are done in dark colors. They are of two sad looking working class children. They were done by an Artist named Alvaro. They are not dated but are believed to be from the 1960s when many Artists like Gig, Keane, Igor, Eden, Lee, Sherle, and many others were doing these big eyed or sad children and animal art works. The prints are done on a textured art board. They are in their original cheap brown hard plastic frames with flower borders. On the back are cloth hangers with a metal grommet. Each has an old five & dime Newberry's store sticker on the back with numbers. The first print is of a young cleaning girl in a dress and apron holding a broom and bucket. The second one is of a young boy with blue jeans, suspenders, a short shirt, and a handkerchief hanging out of his pocket. They are marked the same on the front and back. They are marked as follows: ALVARO NEWBERRY'S #410 47 - 14 / 1 (on the frames) NU - DELL CORP. CHICAGO MADE IN U.S.A. Including the frames these each measure 5-1/8'' x 11-1/4''. They are in excellent condition as pictured. |
