The picture shows a front and back view of this Old United States Navy Ship Tea Spoon. The spoon is not dated but it is old. This spoon was most likely one that was used by Officers in a ship's wardroom. The Navy ship that it came from is unknown. It appears that it may be silver or silver plated. It has not been tested. It has a flower and leaf pattern and it is marked on the two sides as follows:

U.S.N.
HOLMES & EDWARDS - INLAID IS

The teaspoon measures about 6-1/8'' long. It appears to be in excellent condition with an aged patina as pictured. It could be polished if desired.
