| | | The pictures show a front and back view of all (5) 1896 Whitehead & Hoag Company Premium Celluloid Pin Back Buttons With Sayings in this lot. These pinback buttons were part of an 1896 collection of pinback buttons that we had acquired. They were most likely used as a premium from Cigarettes. They appear to be from the same set. It is unknown how many are in the complete set. Each of these pinback buttons have a saying or slogan from the Victorian era. One of these is also marked ''SWEET CAPORAL CIGARETTE'' on the front. There are Whitehead & Hoag Company advertising paper inserts in the back of each of them. In the order pictured, they have the following sayings:
