The picture shows a view of this Old Park Row Building New York City Magic Lantern Photograph Slide. The slide is not dated but it is believed to be from the late 1800s or early 1900s. Others that were found with this one were from those years. It is marked on the slide and on paper labels on the two sides as follows: N.Y. CITY, PARK ROW. PARK ROW BL'G N.Y.C. T. H. McALLISTER, MANUFACTURING OPTICIAN, 49 NASSAU STREET, NEW YORK The slide has a clear and detailed image. Much can not be seen by the picture below, but there are statues on the building, people, and even a horse drawn wagon on the street that can be seen. Some of the many advertising signs that can be read include: Park Row Building - Offices to Let Cupid Bouquet Little Cigars 10c Not Made By A Trust D. H. Mc Alpin & Co. Hitchcocks Musical Merchandise Music Store Frisch & Co. Sewer Pipe Stamps Dinette and many more on the businesses and windows that could be read if the image was blown up larger. The magic lantern slide measures 4'' x 3-1/4''. It appears to be in mint condition as pictured. |
