|The picture shows a view of this Old Gold Filled Boston Lying In Hospital Nurse 5 Year Service Award Pin. The pin is not dated but it is from sometime between 1832 and a 1966 merger. Brigham and Women's Hospital represents the 1980 merger of three Harvard affiliated Boston hospitals: (1.) Peter Bent Brigham Hospital established in 1913, (2.) Robert Breck Brigham Hospital established in 1914, and (3.) Boston Hospital for Women established in 1966 as a merger of: Boston Lying-In Hospital established in 1832, as one of America's first maternity hospitals, and Free Hospital for Women established in 1875.|
The pin is enameled in dark blue and it has a raised image of a stork bird in the center. It is marked on the two sides as follows:
BOSTON LYING - IN HOSPITAL
1/10 10K GF
The pin measures about 9/16'' x 11/16'' wide. It appears to be in mint condition as pictured.
