1940s Occupied Japan Porcelain Tea Cup With a Flower
Occupied Japan   Japan   Porcelain   Tea   Cup   Flower   Floral   Garden
The pictures show views of this 1940s Occupied Japan Porcelain Tea Cup With a Flower. This small teacup has what appears to be a hand painted Pansy flower and leaves. The outside is black and the inside is white. There are gold pain accents all around. It has no saucer with it. It was made by a company named Merit in occupied Japan shortly after World War II. It is marked on the bottom with a design and as follows:

MERIT
MADE IN
OCCUPIED JAPAN

This tea cup measures 2-1/8'' tall. It appears to be in near mint condition with light wear to the gold paint as pictured.
