The pictures below show larger views of this (100) Old Toy Pirate Plastic Play Set Figures With Treasure Chest Box & Advertisement in this lot. This boxed set was unopened when we acquired it, but when counting the full box we found that the total inside was only (96) figures. There is a list of figures on the nice graphic box if you would care to find out what ones are missing. We have never seen a more complete set then this one before. This is one of the sets that you would order from the back of a magazine or comic book, in fact that is where the advertisement that is included, was cut from. This set is not dated, but it is believed to be from the 1950s or 1960s. The box pictures a pegleg Pirate with a sword and a parrot, a treasure chest, a sailing ship, a padlock,, and a wood grain. It is marked on the sides as follows: 100 TOY PIRATES THIS TREASURE CHEST CONTAINS With Long John Silver & Captain Kidd Plus A Fleet of 4 Pirate Ships 8 Swordsmen 12 Buccaneers 4 Treasure Bearers 4 Goldbrickers 8 Pistol Fighters 8 Seamen 4 Prisoners 4 Galleymen 8 Mermaids 8 Treasure Diggers 8 Cannon 4 Treasure Chests 8 Accordion Players 8 Musketeers To judge the sizes, the treasure chest box measures about 8'' x 3-5/8'' x 1-5/16''. The set appears to be in mint condition as pictured. As stated above we counted (96) figures inside, and not (100) as advertised. |
