These ad mats are not dated but they are from 1957 when this movie was made. These are molds in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. The ad mats are like a miniature 3-D posters and would look nice framed, or you could still use them to make print blocks. The print blocks would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater schedule programs. They are made of a thick compressed paper board. These have movie scene images of Actors and Actresses. The ad mats read differently, but the one at the right, of the first picture, is marked as follows: EXPLOSIVE!
