| | | | The pictures show a view of the covers and a few sample pages of this ©1944 Raggedy Ann and The Laughing Brook Story and Coloring Book. It is by Johnny Gruelle with drawings by Mary and Wallace Stover after Gruelle. The booklet is an Old Paithful Product and published by The American Crayon Company of Sandusky, Ohio. You are instructed to read the stories and color the pictures. On the title page, two titles are mentioned ''Raggedy Ann and The Laughing Brook'' and ''Raggedy Ann Helps Grandpa Hoppergrass'' but we only see one story inside. Counting the covers, there are (12) pages. We do not know if any pages are missing. None of the pages have been colored. The story also has the Beloved Belindy black mammy character and others on the cover and inside. On the back there are other stories listed for Raggedy Ann, Peter Rabbit, and many for Uncle Wiggily. The coloring storybook measures 8-3/8'' x 11''. It appears to be in excellent condition as pictured. |
